Founded in 1071, Richmond, Yorkshire is the oldest of the 57 settlements around the world which bear the same name. Over the centuries it has grown into a vibrant market town boasting the largest cobbled marketplace in England. Another of Richmond’s famous landmarks is the Norman castle which dominates the town’s skyline, and a host of elegant Georgian buildings dotted around the  centre only add to its historic charm. Exposure gained from hosting the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire means Richmond is thriving and it will be boosted again when the Championships touch down in this quaint location.
