Bradford truly has something for everyone. The city rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture and rapidly became the “wool capital of the world”. That boom time saw a whole host of stunning Victorian buildings pop up, many of which have survived to this day. City Hall, the Alhambra Theatre and Bradford Cathedral are just some examples of the city’s most iconic architecture. The city is also rich in culture and in 2009 it became the world’s first UNESCO City of Film. A thriving food scene only adds to its all-round credentials and it will prove the perfect start location for the Women’s Elite Road Race.
