Lizzie Deignan returns to Cycle Expo
After giving birth to daughter Orla in September 2018, World Champion Lizzie Deignan is back in competition mode and getting ready for arguably one of the biggest cycling events in the 2019 calendar – the UCI World Road Championships.
Ahead of taking to the start line on the 28 September Lizzie will be found at Cycle Expo Yorkshire hosted at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate from the 21 – 22 September. The shows ambassador for the second year running, Lizzie is working with Cycle Expo Yorkshire to engage more people in cycling and show why Yorkshire truly is the UK’s capital of cycling.
Cycle Expo Yorkshire’s launched in October 2018 to rave reviews. Said to be the most interactive bike show in the UK, attendees can take part in races and competitions, watch performances from BMX and mountain bike world champions and seek out the dedicated kids zone to help introduce children to cycling. Exhibitors from all cycling disciplines including from BMX and freestyle, to road racing and cross country will be in attendance with some of the most exciting names in the industry sitting down with journalist Guy Kesteven for the sofa sessions.
This year’s event is bigger and better and will feature even more opportunities for visitors to get involved, from ‘Have a Go Hero’ hill climbs to workshop challenges and a new MTB flow trail. The kids zone has been extended and on and off-road demo routes added to the wide range of activity on offer. There promises to be something for cycling enthusiasts of all levels and disciplines.
Born in Otley, Lizzie said: “It’s going to be an incredible two weeks of cycling celebrations! There are so many opportunities for everyone to get involved whether that be taking part of the sportive or attending the expo! It’s a great day out for families and cycling enthusiasts alike. For me, being on the start line of the road race will be phenomenal.”
